Bronze Æ

23 mm., 8,67 g.

[K]V-ZIKOC, diademed head of the founder Kyzikos right, serpent beneath neck / [KV]ZIK-HN-ΩN [...], small altar between two flaming, serpent-entwined torches, pellet (?) above.

nearly very fine

Von Fritze, Nomisma X, Kyzikos, Gruppe V, 58a / Tafel V, 16.

According to Asterios Tsintsifos (http://perixpangaionepeiros.blogspot.com/2015/10/blog-post_18.html) the head of the founder Kyzikos is that of Alexander the Great. This coin must be dated, like the pseudoautonomous of Koinon of Macedon, which have also a serpent beneath neck.
