THRACE, Mesambria. Circa 250-140s BC. AR Tetradrachm (29mm, 16.75 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; helmet in inner left field. Karayotov I 13 (O7/R12); Price –; HGC 3, 1567. Good VF, toned, minor double strike on reverse. Very rare issue without supplemental monogram, only two in CoinArchives (Helios 4, lot 35, and Rauch 81, lot 92).
