Approximately 88 pieces in lot. Chinese charms assembled by the late Col. Lewis F. Acker, U. S. Army, while serving in Nanking, China, in 1947. Lewis Franklin Acker (1897-1963) served in Mexico, both World Wars and China and was awarded a Purple Heart. Acker's hand written attributions of each piece are included as most pieces are still adhered to them by clear tape. Various sizes and metals, including some openwork charms. Topics include prosperity, longevity, fertility, virtue as well as other interesting issues. Some appear to be missionary copies from the late 19th to early 20th century. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. An interesting assemblage certain to pique the interest of any advance collector of Charms. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS.
