Outer stamps well applied, while the central stamps are weak in areas. Moderate earthen deposits throughout with light attractive mottled patina.

This particular type of packsaddle ingots was widely used and was made during nearly the entire history of the use of packsaddle ingots in Yunnan. The reason for stating the month of manufacture was to keep track of payments being made by Yunnan remittance banks to entities in other provinces, or over a far distance which may take several months to arrive.
