CHINA. Szechuan. 10 Cents, Year 1 (1912). PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield.
L&M-369; K-789; Y-453; WS-0785. Tied for second finest certified of the type with one other example at PCGS and only one finer, none are listed on the NGC population report as being in mint state condition. A scarce and popular type that's VERY RARE in this state of preservation. It appears that most examples of this type seen in the marketplace are struck with the same pair of dies which can be distinguished by several characteristics. A few easy to identify die markers include three raised lines within the circle just below "Nián" (年) on the obverse and the bottom petal of the right rosette points slightly towards center on the reverse. Boldly struck and lustrous with lovely concentric blue to gray toning. A very attractive example sure to see spirited bidding from the connoisseur of early Republican or Szechuan issues.

Estimate: $5000.00- $7000.00
