CHINA. Dollar, Year 3 (1914)-O. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield.
L&M-63c; K-648; Y-329.4; WS-0174-6. "Triangle Yuan", shallow "O" in bow. A blast white example with nice cartwheel luster. Unusual marks in the upper reverse field appear to be re-engraving executed on the hub, as the marks are incuse not raised, and lack the characteristic flow lines. Presence of unbroken luster in the area eliminate the possibility that they are simply tooling marks applied to the finished coin. A highly interesting example worthy of further study.
Estimate: $700.00- $1000.00
