HONG KONG. 5 Cents, 1941-KN. Kings Norton Mint. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details Gold Shield.
KM-22; Mars-C14. VERY RARE, and the better of two mint marks from the year. Struck at the King's Norton mint, but never released into circulation prior to Hong Kong falling to the Japanese in December 1941. The Japanese invasion no doubt played a roll in the decision to melt most of the mintage from this year. Lightly cleaned long ago now with light attractive peripheral tone. An attractive wholesome example despite its shortcomings.
Estimate: $400.00- $600.00
