ANNAM. Order of the Golden Gong (Kim Khanh) Middle Class Gold Award Medal, Male Version, ND. Thanh Thai (1889-1907). CHOICE VERY FINE.
40.95 mm x 69.55 mm; 17.71 gms (including tassels). Barac-77; cf. Thierry-554 (which is the female version). Wing shape with floral design borders, four characters in center and no flaming pearl; Reverse: Similar to obverse, but different inscription. Red silk cord used for suspension with multi-color tassels attached to bottom. Both the obverse and reverse were made uniface and attached together to create this class of medal. Beautifully toned displaying lovely orange peel patina with hints blue amongst the devices. An attractive example with good eye appeal.
