BURMA. Two Piece 5 Mu Variety Set (2 Pieces), CS 1214 (1852). PCGS MS-62 and PCGS Genuine--Scratch, EF Detail, both Gold Shields.
KM-9; Robinson & Shaw-11.2. Both examples appear to be struck with the same obverse die, but different reverses. The most noticeable differences being that the dots are either hollow "o" or solid and the last digit of the date "q" has a short or long tail. Neither variety is listed by Robinson & Shaw. The short tail variety has a well hidden scratch in the feathers as noted on the PCGS insert long since toned over matching the rest of the coin mentioned for accuracy. While the long tail variety is slightly double struck with about a 5 degree clockwise rotation on the second strike. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. Both are well struck with attractive rich patina. An excellent gathering for the intermediate collector looking to fill out their collection.
Estimate: $400.00- $600.00
