JAPAN. Trade Dollar, Year 8 (1875). Meiji. NGC MS-66.
Dav-275; Y-14; JNDA-01-12. First year of issue of a three year type. Single finest certified of the date and tied for second finest of the type with one other example and one finer (MS-67) on the NGC population report, both Year 9 (1876). None are noted on the PCGS census at this grade level or above. A splendid example with lovely smooth satiny surfaces displaying full mint bloom. Minimal marks or abrasions as would be expected from the assigned lofty premium Gem grade. Beautiful smokey golden-grey tone with cartwheel luster that pops out when rotated in the light.
