Britannia, The Trinovantes AV Stater. Circa 50-40 BC. 'Climping L' type. Abstract wreathed head of Apollo right / Celticised horse left; remains of charioteer above, reverse S design with bird head terminals to left; crescents, pellets, and pellet-in-annulets around. Extremely Fine; a superb example of the type, of which almost all known specimens are flatly struck. Extremely Rare, and among the finest known.
