KINGS OF SOPHENE. Mithradates II Philopator, ca. 89 - after 85 BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 16 mm, 5.14 g, 12 h), Arkathiokerta (?). Diademed head of Mithradates II to left wearing bashlyk; MIΘ countermark behind head. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY ΦIΛOΠ club within wreath. ACV 193-194. Alram 248. Kovacs 36; for c/m Kovacs 22. Well struck and clear with a dark green patina and pleasant details; unattested countermark for type. Reverse struck slightly off centre, otherwise, nearly very fine.
