KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes I, 121-96 BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 17 mm, 3.98 g, 1 h), struck post-mortem in Artaxata, under Tigranes II 'the Great', after 96. Diademed head of the deified Tigranes I to right, wearing five-pointed tiara decorated with a star. Rev. BAΣΙΛEΩΣ MEΓ[AΛOY TI]ΓPANOY ΘEOY Elephant standing to left. ACV 145-146. CAA 143. Kovacs 54 (this obverse die). A very rare issue of Tigranes the Great, honouring his deceased father. Some uncleaned deposits, otherwise, about very fine.
