SICILY, Syracuse, (c.450-440 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.36 g), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer holding kentron in right hand and reins in both hands, Nike flying right crowning horses, ketos to right in exergue, rev. **SU*R**AKOSI ON* around to right, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair rolled and tucked under diadem, wearing necklace, four dolphins clockwise around, (cf.S.914, Boehringer 556.4 this coin [obverse 282/reverse 386 these dies], SNG ANS 180 (same obverse die), Dewing 807 (same dies). Attractively toned, good very fine and very rare.
