BRITISH VICTORIAN ERA 2ND LIFE GUARDS OFFICER'S SWORD, features a flat back blade (98cm), etched pattern at top and mid-point of blade and includes crowned VRI cypher, near the guard is a PROVED mark, the grip is leather wrapped with twists of wire and the plated guard is voided in parts and features a crown above an intricate pattern and at the bottom has the number 2, all in brass, and at each side of the guard are evenly spaced brass knobs, the pommel is textured silver plate with a knob on top, the scabbard is silver plated with two brass belt hanging brackets and with a decorative brass chape (total length including handle and scabbard 119cm). Some wear to the plating on the scabbard and a few small sections of the guard, otherwise very fine.
