Herbert Danvers born 15Feb1874; joined the Medical Branch of the Royal Navy 26Nov1914; WWI service included at Haslar R.N. Hospital, and on ships Queen Alexandra, Victory, Attentive and Achilles; also at times employed as interpreter in French and Italian; treated for tuberculosis in 1917 and was invalided out of the RN; was a member of the British Medical Association Ship Surgeons Sub Committee 1919-20; Surgeon Lieutenant Danvers RN (Retd) died 18 Mar1920 and was buried in the Nice (Caucade) British Civil Cemetery. Entitled to WWI trio of medals.
