A.I.F. on second medal, 499 Pte J Catton 29 Bn. A.I.F. on third medal, 499 Pte. J.Catton. 29 Bn. A.I.F. on last medal. All medals impressed. Display mounted, contact marks, very good - fine.

Together with a laminated coloured copy of a WWI Roll of Honor tribute scroll from the Town of Kew named to Jack Catton.

Recommendation: At Morlancourt on night 28/29th July 1918. Conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty. This soldier was a volunteer Stretcher Bearer from H.Q. Details and worked throughout our attack and capture of enemy system constantly under heavy shellfire. Without rest this man under great difficulties laboured on until all the wounded had been brought in. He showed a total disregard of danger and continued his duties of carrying in wounded all during the following day. This soldier never ceased his work until all were brought in, by which time he was thoroughly exhausted. He displayed courage and devotion to duty.
