TRIO TO NURSE: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. S/Nurse. A.Scott. A.N.S. A.I.F. on first medal, Matron. A.Scott. A.I.F. on last two medals. All medals impressed. Swing mounted, good very fine - extremely fine.

Together with Australian Army Nursing Service embroidered sleeve badge with two securing pins fitted on reverse.

Annie Scott, nurse, age 35, born at Jarrow on Tyne, Durham, England; trained at Ipswich General Hospital, Qld (4 years), St Clair Private Hospital (3 years), Medical and Surgical Certificates from Ipswich General Hospital, Midwifery Certificate from Lady Musgrave Hospital, Maryborough; Enl.11Nov1914 in AANS at Brisbane, Qld; Emb.21Nov1914 with 1AGH; served in Egypt, France, Flanders, England; also served as Matron of 34th Welsh General Hospital in Deolali, India Dec1918-Dec1919; trf to Bombay and RTA 01Dec1919; Disch.29Feb1920.

After war service, Annie Scott served as Matron of Townsville General Hospital for 15 years. She tendered her resignation in September 1935 and was much praised for her service and it was decided to a record of appreciation of valuable services be made and that a testimonial presentation be made by the Board.
