Commonwealth (1649-60), Sixpence, 1656, 2.95g, m.m. sun, shield of England within palm and laurel wreath, rev. conjoined shields of England and Ireland, value above (Tisbury I, lot 856, same dies; ESC 204 {1492}; N.2726; S.3219), an attractive coin save only for a trace of double-striking on obverse, pleasingly brilliant in recesses and centrally struck-up, extremely fine or near so, rare thus.
