Sicily, Leontinoi (c. 450-420 BC), AR Tetradrachm, 17.32g, laureate head of Apollo left, rev. lion's head left, with jaws open and tongue protruding; laurel leaf and barley-corns around (Boehringer 55, same dies; Rizzo pl. XXIV, 4, same dies; SNG {ANS} 257, same dies), some surface encrustation to periphery, and a minor striking split at 7 o'clock, otherwise extremely fine or near so.
