Edward I (1272-1307), Penny, class 1a, London, 1.28g, edw rex angl dns hyb, lombardic ns, bust facing, modified bifoliate crown with forked central ornament, wedge after hyb, rev. double-barred Roman ns and sloping-topped as (SCBI XXXIX {North}, 19, same dies; Inder I, lot 221, same dies; N.1010/12; S.1380/82), a well struck and quite bold example, seldom encountered as a 'true' coin as often muled, slight surface porosity and scuff by hair, otherwise very fine, very rare.
