The Nejd countermark on a classic silver trade coin, a Maria Therest taler, is considered "spurious" but is actively collected now and reflects the restoration of the Al-Saud dynasty of central Arabia by Abd al-Aziz Al-Sa'ud in 1902, the beginning of a leadership that extended to his death in 1953, when he was King of Saudi Arabia.
