CILICIA, Aegeae. Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Tridrachm (26.5mm, 9.91 g, 12h). Dated CY 164 (AD 117/8). Laureate bust right, slight drapery / Amaltheia standing facing, head right, holding cornucopia and infant Zeus, who is holding wreath aloft; at feet to left, goat kneeling left, head right; ЄTOYC ΔΞP (date) in legend. Prieur 716 var. (position of goat); SNG Levante 1713-4 var. (same); SNG BN 2328 var. (same); RPC III 3335/10 (this coin cited). Good Fine, lightly toned, some minor porosity and a few light scratches. Extremely rare variety, Prieur did not own this example when he published his book, none on CoinArchives, and one specimen, this coin, cited by the authors of RPC.
