(x) Bermuda Government, 1 shilling, 1 March 1939, serial number W 200008, green, pink and red-orange, head of George VI in circular frame at right, value in green rosette at left, reverse blank,(Pick 6, TBB B106a, Aspen p.193), perforated CANCELLED, in PMG holder 66 EPQ Gem Uncirculated and an exceptional rarity. Only 300,000 printed due to the expected shortage of coinage during the Second World War; the notes were printed by Bradbury Wilkinson and delivered to Bermuda in May 1939. However, the coinage shortage never materialised and the notes were destroyed; it is consequently believed that only about eleven sets survived..
