MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Antigonus II Gonatas (277/6-239 BC). AV stater (16mm, 8.59 gm, 8h). NGC AU 2/5 - 4/5. Amphipolis or Pella, ca. 276-275 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, the bowl decorated with coiled serpent right / ΑΝΤΙΓΟΝΟΥ / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ. Nike standing left, aphlaston upward in right hand, stylis cradled on left arm; wreath below wing in inner left field. HGC 3.1, 1039. Price Plate CLVIII, D (British Museum).
