Republic gold 8 Scudos 1837 PTS-LM AU50 PCGS, Potosi mint, KM99, Fr-21, Onza-1583. Unusually lustrous for a circulated issue, seemingly at least in part a consequence of the strike, which has left the central region of the obverse raised relative to the lower-lying peripheral areas. Handling is limited to insignificant wisps in the fields, ensuring that this example retains an outsized appearance for the assigned grade. We note that the correct denomination is "Scudos", rather than "Soles", which is incorrectly noted on the insert.
