William IV 1/2 Crown 1837 MS64 PCGS, KM714.2, S-3834. The single highest graded example of this final-year type by either NGC or PCGS. William IV died in 1837 and was succeeded by his niece Victoria, marking the end of the British monarchy in Hanover (as a woman cannot take the throne in the Hanoverian line of succession). Sleek, silver gray surfaces bear exceptionally few contact marks, no wear noticeable on William's bold portrait, the planchet framed with a light golden tone at the peripheries. A lustrous, high-quality example and impossible to upgrade.
