An immensely alluring example of this earlier Cob 8 Escudos issue from the Lima mint, mounted in 18 ct. gold and set on a 24 ct. gold chain weighing 37.28 grams. The coin and mount by themselves weigh 44.49 grams. Sold with black hardback case with clasp. From the 1715 Plate Fleet, the coin comes with a certificate from Mel Fisher's Treasure Sales certifying the purity of the gold in the chain and mount, and the authenticity and origin of the coin itself.
