Alexius I Comnenus. 1081-1118. BI aspron trachy (23.4 mm, 1.43 g, 5 h). Constantinople mint. Nimbate Christ enthroned facing, wearing pallium and colobium; holding book of Gospels; IC ? XC in field to left and right / [A/ΛЄ/zIω/ΔЄC/ΠOT to left; to right, Tω/KO/MN/N] (or similar, all off-flan or illegible), crowned bust of Alexius facing wearing jeweled chlamys; holding labarum and globus cruciger. SBCV 1918. Near VF detail, possibly officially clipped, apparently broken and glued together, possibly when flattened from original scyphate fabric, two deep rim splits at 5:00 and 7:00, lightly toned.
