A fine piece of iron Bngala ?Spear Tip? currency from the D.R. Congo, ca. late 19th Century. This large example is 25-1/2? long and has the pointed tip and the characteristic flared ends. Nicely encrusted. This rare type is also called "Portuguese Helmet Currency". Ex NOA collection. Value range: $300 - $500.
