FATIMID, AL-MANSUR (334-341h) Quarter-dinar, al-Mahdiya 338h, month of Jumada al-Awwal Weight: 1.01g Reference: cf Nicol 247 (month of Jumada al-Akhir) Traces of mounting at 12 o'clock on obverse, otherwise very fine and apparently unpublished. Although Nicol records four fractional dinars of this mint and date issued during Jumada al-Akhir, this appears to be the first recorded example struck in the month of Jumada al-Awwal.
