Hadrian augustus, 117 – 138. Sestertius 134-138, Æ 26.68 g. Bare head r. Rev. Hadrian, togate, standing l., holding roll in l. hand and extending r. hand to raise up Macedonia, wearing causia, kneeling, facing him, on l., holding whip in l. hand. C 1282 var. (also draped). RIC 959c var. (also draped). Strack 781 (this coin illustrated).
Very rare. A bold portrait and an interesting reverse composition.
Dark tone and good very fine
