Alexius I Comnenus, April 1081 – August 1118, with colleagues from 1088. Pre-reform coinage, 1081-1092. Debased Tetarteron 1081-1087, EL 3.99 g. Facing bust of Christ, with decorated nimbus, wearing tunic and colobium, holding Book of Gospels with both hands. Rev. Facing bust of Alexius, wearing loros and crown with cross and pendilia, holding sceptre cruciger and globus surmounted by pelleted cross. DO 6a. Sear 1895.
