Demetrius I, 200 – 185. Tetradrachm, Panjhir (?) circa 200-185, AR 16.92 g. Draped bust r., wearing elephant headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ Heracles standing facing, crowning himself with r. hand and holding club and lion's skin in l.; in lower inner l. field, monogram. MIG 103d var. Bopearachchi Série 1D, 2-3. SNG ANS 188.
Rare. A bold portrait struck on a full flan and with a lovely light iridescent tone.
Minor mark on obverse, otherwise extremely fine
