A handsome and mildly circulated example of the distinct and popular large format issue for British India. Replacing the enormously sized uniface types in 1927, this new portrait series was issued with city codes throughout the British controlled areas. This note was issued from Bombay. Beautifully and uniquely colored, with pastel green, purple, and orange hues. PMG notes the ubiquitous spindle holes. From the Yuri Solovey Collection of India and Subcontinent HID08701242017
