Montreal, PQ- Banque du Peuple $5 2.5.1836 Ch.# 575-10-04-02 PMG Choice Fine 15. Currently occupying the lone spot in the PMG Population Report at the time of cataloging, this rare type was issued during the reign of British King William IV. Some thinning is noted, but that is to be expected on a paper banknote from the 1830s. All aspects considered, this note has a terrific appearance, with bold handwritten signatures, dates, and other notations. Interesting French issue for "Lower Canada". Possibly the first example offered in public auction which could render our estimates to be conservative. HID08701242017
