Canadian Currency
Toronto, ON- Crown Bank of Canada $5 1.6.1904 Ch.# 215-10-02 PMG Very Fine 25. A rare find in any grade and certainly one of the scarcest banknotes from the chartered series. Only six issued examples have been recorded by the 2016 Canadian Paper Money Society Registry. Denoted as "Private Collection (1972)," the said collection that this note resided in was that of Amon Carter. At the time it was regarded as the finest known, now second only to a Very Fine 35. This 1904 5 dollars was the sole denomination issued by this bank, which lasted only four years before being amalgamated with the Northern Bank of Winnipeg to become the Northern Crown Bank in 1908. Original details remain strong on this prized piece featuring the central vignette of the cattle in the pasture on the front and the crown with floral symbols on back. PMG mentions a small corner tear on this otherwise problem free note which will be a welcomed addition to any collection. HID08701242017

Estimate: 12000-14000 USD
