Toronto, UC- Bank of Upper Canada $1 1.1.1861 Ch.# 770-220-602a Sarnia Overprint PMG Very Good 10. A decent enough example of this scarce issue, which is infrequently offered. Sarnia overprints indicate the note's issuing town, which is on the border of Ontario and Michigan. Although the name "Bank of Upper Canada" sounds exotic and remote, it probably was for 19th century standards. Today, it is quite debatable as to whether or not Sarnia is in "Upper Canada." Interesting and rare. HID08701242017
