Hawaii Republic of Hawaii 20 Dollars 1895 (ND 1899) Pick 8s Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. An incredible and very rare Specimen, stamped as such in red on the front. At the time of cataloging, this is the only example in the PMG Population Report. Complete with a printer's stamp, hole punched cancellations, and printers notations. Fresh, vivid colors and excellent original paper are easily noted. All proofs and specimens of Hawaiian banknotes are scarce, with this example being unique, or very close to that claim. Stamped 1896 and with a written date of 1897, it can be surmised that although dated 1895, these notes may have been issued a few years later. This Specimen was produced as a visual aid, and interestingly, the counterfoil was not sliced during production. A handsome and extremely rare Specimen coinciding with the United States' annexation of Hawaii. HID08701242017
