Danzig Senate of the Municipality, Free City 5 Milliarden 11.10.1923 Pick 30 PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. As the inflation crisis built up more and more steam in the summer and autumn of 1923, the Senate passed periodically more decrees that permitted higher denominations with the last being in October. Late October saw currency reform with a new issuer and the replacement of the Mark with the Gulden. The planning for the Gulden switchover began in July 1923, when it was announced that a new independent currency was being established with the approval of the League of Nations finance committee. The Gulden's rate of exchange was introduced at a value of 25 Gulden equals £1 Sterling. This example with deep embossing is the highest graded Pick 30 seen by PMG with no equals. HID08701242017
