Ex Berk BBS 130 (December 2002), lot 827; Marcel Burstein Collection (Peus 366, 29 October 2000), lot 834; Dr. Henry Clay Lindgren Collection.

Artemis was the patron deity of Perga, whilst Athena was the patron deity of Perga's rival city, Side in Pamphylia. This interesting type seems to serve as a declaration of Perga's superiority.
