A very important and extremely fine bronze tripod ritual rood vessel "Ding"
The rounded sides supported by three open moulded dragon-shaped legs, with two upright loop handles issuing from the lipped rim. The body decorated with a band of stylized dragons between two bands of small circles, characteristic of the period, with a pictograph of a Chariot on the belly (a family emblem). Good green patina.

Style of: Early Shang, Zhengzhou (15th – 14th century BC) Antiques Analytics states 'produced in the 20th century' (Sample AA 18-080611)

The same type of pictograph seen here was seen on a bronze vase "Ku" in the former collection of the famous English collector Lord Cunlife (see Watson, Ancient Chinese Bronzes, pg. 78, no. 4) and has been found on a Fang Ding in the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, Canada (see he T.T. Tsui Galleries of Chinese Art Catalogue, pl.13)
