St. Maarten, 1 stuiver, ca. 1798, countermark StM in beaded circle on reverse of a French Cayenne copper 2 sous, rare, Pridmore Plate Coin, ex-Roehrs. Vlack-427; Prid-p. 256 fig. 30 (this coin); Scholten-1419, KM-1. 0.88 gram. Full countermark (Fine) with breach on other side and resultant flan-crack in host, which is otherwise AVG with full legends, darkly toned, excellent pedigree. Pedigreed to the F. Pridmore collection (Glendining, September 1981, with original lot-tag #428) and plated on page 256 (Figure 30) in his book (The Coins of the British Commonwealth of Nations, Part 3, West Indies, 1965), and pedigreed to the Edward Roehrs collection (Dix Noonan Webb, November 2011, lot #441).
