Tortola, three halfpence, ca. 1801, incuse T countermark on a French Cayenne copper 2 sous, ex-Pridmore, ex-Roehrs. Vlack-453; Prid-7A. 1.45 grams. Host corroded Fair, countermark Fine, all dark and somewhat corroded and encrusted. Bost host and countermark appear to be contemporary forgeries, the resultant coin clearly well circulated anyway. Good pedigree. Pedigreed to the F. Pridmore collection (Glendining, September 1981, lot #186), with his original tag, and to the Edward Roehrs collection (Dix Noonan Webb, November 2011, lot #418).
