Buenos Aires, Argentina, uniface silver medal, (1845), Colegio Republicano Federal, with hanger at top that says F o M ("Federacion o Muerte"), very rare. Cunietti-pg. 122; Rosa-350. 34mm with 20x11mm hanger, 7.31 grams total. Wreath around Argentine arms inside legend *COLEGIO REPUBLICANO FEDERAL* with Bs As at bottom. Deeply toned XF+, no problems. This medal was known as "divisa del Colegio" (badge of the school) and was mandated by the director, Father Francisco Majeste, in 1845 to denote their allegiance. The school was occupied by Rosas and 300 soldiers in 1851.
