Pennsylvania, 20 shillings, Oct. 1, 1756, serial 3665, plate A, printed by Benjamin Franklin, PMG Fine 15, finest and only known example in PMG census. Fr-PA-80. Another example of the ever-popular Benjamin Franklin printed colonial issues, this being the highest denomination made for the series. Like most early colonial bills, this note was heavily circulated and has, as PMG notes, splits which are rather light and located at the central horizontal fold. Both sides retain significant ink color with penned serial and signatures still visible. Considerably better than both examples from Eric P. Newman's collection. PMG #8059652-002. Pedigreed to the Henry D. Osborne collection.
