Lot of nine Uruguay, Banco Uruguayo, pattern proof notes, 1884, with accompanying ABNCo documents, ex-Christie's: 50 pesos back, 20 pesos back, 10 pesos front and back, 1 peso front, 50 centavos front and back, 25 centavos front and back. SCWPM-unlisted. Fascinating assemblage of ABNCo pattern proofs for a Uruguayan bank that never issued notes, all mounted on thick cardstock and quite colorful with only minor foxing on a few pieces to note. Included with the lot is a group of ABNCo transcriptions from 1931 and an original notebook page from 1884 relating to the Uruguayo pattern proofs' creation. Excellent grouping for research and the only way to own notes from this Banco. Pedigreed to the Christie's ABNCo Archives sale of Nov. 1990 (lot #1238).
