English copperplate engraving by John Ogilby of "Francisco Pisarro" from Complete History of America (London, 1671), hand colored. 12-1/4" x 7". An impressive portrait of Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish conquistador who spent most of his life in the New World and toppled the Inca Empire. Framed within an ornate border, Pizarro wears elaborate armor and a flamboyant plumed helmet. Lovely hand-colored engraving in very good condition with no problems.
