Small copperplate engraving of Cartagena (Colombia) by A.M. Mallet (published 1719), hand colored. 8-1/4" x 5-7/8" (image 5-1/2" x 4-1/8"). A vividly colored, compact birdseye view of Cartagena from across the harbor, with ships and fortifications in the foreground as it appeared in Mallet's Description de L'Univers, first published in Paris in 1683. There are some creases only affecting the sky, otherwise very good condition and attractively colored.
