Pour servir a l' Histoire Generale des Voyages," 1754 (Paris), hand colored. 10" x 7-1/2" (image size 7-3/4" x 5-3/4"). From Jacques Nicolas Bellin's 1764 Le Petit Atlas Maritime Recueil De Cartes Et Plans Des Quatre Parties Du Monde. In 1721 at age 18, Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772), was appointed chief cartographer to the French Navy and in 1741, he was named official hydrographer to the French king. Nicely hand colored petite map on fine period handmade laid paper.
